Becca Ingle is by far the coolest mom blogger we’ve ever met. Stalking her Instagram is like watching a powerhouse superwoman in action!!!! Raising young kids while being insanely perfect at it; her house is oh so adorable AND did I mention she literally made a business having fun and traveling!?!?! When Becca isn’t “gramming.” she is working on her blog, which is appropriately named, “We Were Together, I forget The Rest.” Anyways, we were lucky enough to chat with Becca in her spare time to learn more about her blog, her absolute fave places to travel and her best “Insta” tips to help you cultivate your own at home business brand!
What inspired you to become a blogger?
I’ve always loved taking pictures of my kids and editing the pictures on trips. A lot of friends would always ask me about how I managed traveling with them so well, tips, and recommendations for where we stayed and what we packed, etc. I thought it would be a good idea to document it all on a blog for people to easily read and go back to for reference! I used to have a MySpace account back in the day, and I really loved the coding aspect and behind the scenes of making the website run. After watching some tutorials and talking to close friends that were successful bloggers I decided to go after it. My blog is the creative outlet I’ve always needed, and the dream job I never knew existed. I am thankful everyday I am able to do something I love and see so much reward!
What’s your favorite thing about being a mom blogger?
I love getting the shot that showcases my kid’s personality and that one day they will be able to go back and see all our memories virtually and everything I wrote on the blog! I also love the flexibility of creating my own schedule. I can work once the kids go to sleep or really any time, as it takes no time to edit a photo and upload it to social media! I’m forever grateful to get the best of both worlds everyday.
What moment in your career have you been most proud of?
I’m creating memories that I can look back on forever. I get to document my kids growth in a way I would never have had the chance to if this wasn’t part of my “job.” It almost never feels like work, but more like a hobby I REALLY enjoy doing. Some of my highlights are when we get reposted by big brands or when companies I’ve always loved want to work with us! It’s been so refreshing to work directly with business owners and build relationships across countries with everyone we have worked with!
What are some favorite places you’ve travelled to so far?
Hands down, the Turks and Caicos! We actually are going back in the fall for the 5th time–twice in 6 months. The island is breathtaking and calm, and we never feel like we are at some crowded resort. All the people are amazing and the food is delicious! It’s definitely the best place to travel with kids I’ve been as far as tropical islands go!
Aside from your wallet and phone, what do you keep in your purse at all times?
RDKL’s Revive facial toner—no question. I don’t wear a ton of makeup and applying a soothing, cooling gel that feeds my skin the correct nutrients, as well as balancing my PH levels, gives me a boost no matter what I’m doing with my day. I’ve recently started adding essential oils such as peppermint and eucalyptus into my routine, and gosh, it’s by far my favorite discovery in skincare.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty is an equation of how you present yourself, how you treat others, and how you personally feel about the way you look. If you love yourself more with a natural bare face or if you want to rebel against the current fashion trends – that’s your personal brand of beauty. Embrace you.
What advice would you give to your younger self, if you could?
Start a blog sooner! I wish I would have documented all my trips I ever took starting in college when I went to Hawaii for a semester. Also not to care what anyone else thought, but to just stay true to what you want to do!
What’s next for you?
Constantly growing and developing my Instagram and Blog. I want each piece of content to be better than the last and I want to push myself even more outside of my comfort zone. I recently changed my color imaging scheme to have it blend together. I’d also love to take more photography classes and perfect photos better. I’m hoping next year when we travel I’ll get to meet some of the business owners we are working with!
We love your Instagram! Do you have any tips for managing / curating one’s feed? Like seriously; how do I become INSTAFAMOUS!!!
My biggest piece of advice is to stay true to yourself and to try not to compare yourself to anyone else. Your viewers are coming to see you and your unique personality. As long as you stay true to yourself and to your own brand, your viewers will relate to you and friendships/followings will grow and last. I would also pick a theme that goes with your style! Ours is clearly beach and babies traveling, so if you scroll through my page you’ll mainly see us at the beach or an island in bathing suits 🙂
